Complex Bowel Care Training - 5 March, 2026

This training course gives, participants the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide optimal care for patients.

About this Event

By the end of this training course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide optimal care for patients with complex bowel conditions, utilizing a holistic approach that prioritizes patient comfort, safety, and dignity.

Items covered in this training are:

• Anatomy of GI system
• Anatomy of large bowel
• Constipation: it’s causes, symptoms and management
• Oral laxatives: various types and their actions
• Suppositories: types and their actions
• Enemas

There is also a practical demonstration of giving the suppository/enema which covers positioning, the privacy and dignity of the customer, equipment and insertion. Participants will then take part in a simulated practice of these techniques.

Free parking is available direclty across the road from the Rocky Bay office. Please report to reception upon arrival.
