Compassion at Work training

By Mental Health Community Coalition ACT

Overview

Join this half-day training to learn the science behind sustaining you and your organisation's wellbeing in a compassion-based role!

Do you work in a community services or care setting?

Many of us working in community services, health, disability, ATOD, teaching and other care roles have a really difficult job supporting people in distress. We have to draw on our compassion everyday, which sometimes can lead to feelings of burnout and compassion fatigue. What if there was an evidence-based way to sustain your wellbeing and performance, allowing you to show up as your best self for your clients, your communities and yourself?

If you would like to learn more, join this free half-day training session on Compassion at Work. In this training session, you will learn:

  • what compassion is
  • the science that supports the physical and emotional benefits of a compassionate approach
  • key components of compassion, the barriers and how to maintain a compassionate approach at work
  • how organisational culture impacts compassion
  • the links between self-compassion and the ability to be compassionate towards others
  • ways you can promote compassion
  • how to develop a Compassion Plan.

This training session is for staff and volunteers of local ACT workplaces.

The Compassion at Work training module provides the foundational information that will prepare attendees for the Community Suicide Awareness training we also run from the Connecting with People suite. All training dates are available on our website.

Developed by 4 Mental Health (4MH) in the UK, CwP is an alternative, compassion-based and evidence-informed suicide prevention framework and training approach.

This course is delivered by the Mental Health Community Coalition ACT (MHCC ACT), with assistance from the ACT Government under the Connecting with People program.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your session for mandatory pre-course administration.
