About this event

To be leaders in the industry, we need to understand the trends, respond by integrating the trends into our businesses and markets, and partner with like in mind and purpose. A key trend leading the market towards a new era of business is Community. We are navigating new business ways in an online and offline community model.

This Community Workshop Series is designed to address the need for momentum in this space. Business is essentially about creating value and creating relationships. When we have these in balance, we create flow in business and life.

In this third Community Workshop on Wednesday, November 23, we focus on Business Relationships. The element is Water. In business, we relate this element to our clients and the customers we choose to serve, our partners in the markets who complement us, and the communities to which we belong.

There is no prerequisite to attending previous workshops in the series to gain value from each event. For those who have experienced a Tolemy Community Workshop, this event will build on the knowledge and add fresh insights focusing on Business Relationships.

The venue is the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse on the Brisbane River.

This event is fully catered, and the day will flows in two parts, as described further below.

The invitation extends to any colleagues you feel would receive value from joining you, for an experience in good company.

Expect a fun, energising and informative experience of continuing to connect, explore and expand together.

GAME 1: "Hide and Seek" 8:00 am - 10: 00 am

Every game has a method of scoring. For example, in business, we take a score on how well we create value, resulting in profits, and we can score by how long and wide we can share that value, which is our valuation.

Those who have been around me long enough will have seen these scorecard formulas.

Valuation = Profit x Multiple And, Profit = Volume x Margin.

For fun, we can gamify this concept with a version of ‘hide and seek’. In every business, there are hidden assets that are intangible. In uncovering our hidden assets, we can change the way we value our business. Once we uncover the hidden assets and when we know how to leverage them, we can seek out how to create far greater multiples.

You can change volume and margin when you know how to architect your product lines with a single focus, increasing both profit and multiple to score a better game. By playing your best game and attaining a higher score, when it comes time to pass the ball, you’ll be in a better position to maximise the value and returns on all your hard work.

Other hidden assets that sit inside a business are our people and culture. As humans, we are energetic beings. When we know how to lift energy to a higher level by removing energy blocks and giving people permission to shine, we unlock hidden potential and create a fun and engaging environment every day. In this game, we explore how to realise this energy so that people are free to seek how they can contribute to a business.

GAME 2: "Connecting the Dots" 8:00 am - 4: 30 pm

In this game, we connect the dots for better quality and longevity in all relationships.

This workshop explores Business Relationships and how well we create, maintain and deepen relationships with our Clients, Partners and Communities, inside and outside our businesses. All our relationships have the potential to become connected with a community-minded approach.

Please join us after this session for refreshments and connection through to 6:30 pm.
