Join us planting natives to help restore an area of open eucalypt woodland within the Lower Mooloolah River Environmental Reserve.

About this event

Join us to plant native trees, shrubs and groundcovers and help restore a patch of the Lower Mooloolah River Environment Reserve to open eucalypt grassland. Kabi Kabi elder, Bridgette Chilli will commence the event with a smoking ceremony.


Access and transport

Shuttling to the event area will be organised from the parking area for participants with 2WD vehicles. Participants with a 4WD or AWD will be directed to the event site.

Planting area can be accessed through the reserve after registration at the entrance. This event runs from 8.00, so please arrive at least 10min early to the front gate to ensure you are on site for the start. Participants must SIGN-IN at the registration desk before commencing with the planting. Please use Google map link for reserve entrance location.


What's provided?

Morning tea will be provided after the planting.

Gloves, tools and equipment for the planting activity will be provided.


What to bring and wear

Please bring your own water bottle, a broad brimmed hat, AND WEAR field clothing including pants, long sleeve shirt and covered shoes. Please note a TOILET will be on site.


Wet weather contingency

Should wet weather impact the event, a cancellation email will be sent to you on the 3 June by 2pm.
