Join us for a Community Planting Day on Monday, June 9, 2025, to revegetate a section at the southern end of McEwens Beach foreshore near the swimming enclosure, known locally as ‘the Knoll’.Construction of new fencing in the area and picnic settings overlooking the swimming enclosure has been completed for stage one of the McEwens Beach revegetation project and we now need your help to plant the new vegetation.Register today to join the Community Planting Day! <ul><li>Check-in from 9am to 9.30am.</li><li>Tree planting will be from 9.30am to 1.30pm.</li></ul>Late arrivals are still welcome to join in.Light refreshments for the volunteers will be provided by the McEwens Beach Progress Association after the planting activities.Important information:<ul><li>Volunteers will need to complete a Volunteer Registration Form and participate in a safety induction.</li><li>Comfortable clothing should be worn, including a long-sleeved shirt, pants, enclosed shoes, and a hat.</li><li>Bring your gardening gloves (if you have them).</li><li>Wear sunscreen and bring a reusable water bottle.</li></ul>Visit <a href="https://www.connectingmackay.com.au/mcewens-beach-reveg" title="https://www.connectingmackay.com.au/mcewens-beach-reveg" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">connectingmackay.com.au/mcewens-beach-reveg</a> for more information.The revegetation project has been made possible by McEwens Beach Progress Association in collaboration with Mackay Regional Council.Should you have any enquiries, please contact council’s Community Engagement team on 1300 MACKAY (622 529).
