The Communication Confidence Toolkit workshop is a practical, skills-based session designed to help people feel more confident communicating their ideas, needs, and boundaries.
This small-group workshop is especially supportive for people who find traditional training environments challenging, including those with learning or reading difficulties, communication anxiety, or low confidence speaking in groups.
The session is interactive, discussion-based, and delivered in plain language. There are no long worksheets, tests, or reading-heavy materials — the focus is on real-world strategies you can use immediately.
Participants will leave with clear, practical tools to support everyday conversations at work, in education, and in community settings.
What you’ll learn
- Simple frameworks for clearer communication
- How to speak up, ask questions, and express needs with more confidence
- Strategies to reduce communication anxiety
- Practical tools for everyday and high-stakes conversations
All tools are designed to be accessible, low-text, and reusable across different situations.
Who this workshop is for
- Adults and young adults in the Toowoomba region
- People who find reading-heavy or text-based programs challenging
- Job seekers, students, early-career professionals, and community members
- Anyone wanting to feel more confident communicating
No prior training, strong literacy skills, or specialist knowledge is required.

- Duration: Short-format session (community-friendly length)
- Location: Toowoomba City Library, Level 2, Meeting Room 6
- Group size: Approximately 8–15 participants
- Format: In-person, interactive, small-group workshop
Take-Home Learning Pack
At the end of the workshop, participants can choose to take home a Communication Confidence Pack.
The pack is designed to help you:
- remember what you explored
- keep using the tools in everyday life
- share the ideas with others if you want
You do not have to take a pack if you don’t want to.
What the pack may include
Depending on availability, packs may include:
- AAC communication cards
- Easy Read information sheets
- short learning module summaries
- magnets or visual reminders
- notepads and pencils
- small items like hats or shirts
All items are:
- optional
- low-text
- practical
- designed for everyday use
You can use the pack:
- at home
- at work or study
- with support people
- or just keep it as a reminder
There is no homework and nothing to complete.
