Commercial Acumen: Advanced Alignment Training

Do you want to understand the strategies in preparing for a commercial alignment and interactive sessions?

Do you want to learn more about using commercial alignment and interactive sessions to strengthen the relationship with service providers by seeking win win outcomes and greater clarity on the commercial terms?

Do you want to get better value for money from your service providers by understanding the commercial drivers of supplier and service providers’ behaviour?

The Advanced Commercial Acumen Workshop is for those who have attended the introductory courses. The program leverages learnings from previous courses with a specific focus on:

  • Understanding the commercial negotiation principles;
  • Using Human Synergistics and Myers Briggs to help prepare for a negotiation;
  • Importance of commercial alignment in building trust with service providers;
  • Preparing for commercial alignment and positive guidance sessions and ensuring the team comes across as organised and professional;
  • How to use benchmark data to assist in the negotiation and drive better value for money;
  • Practicing commercial alignment and commercial negotiation techniques;
  • Better understanding of Governance around capital projects or business improvement initiatives;
  • Increasing leadership depth and broadening capability of our leaders;
  • Understanding commercial best practices;
  • Increasing our understanding around commercial decision making;
  • Realising the importance of developing strong business relationships;
  • Increasing value for money for taxpayers and agencies;
  • Ensuring commercial decisions are aligned to strategy and promote achievement of project objectives;
  • Understanding the cost drivers and profit drivers of service providers;
  • Balancing risk and reward and risk allocation in commercial relationships; and
  • Learning tips and tricks to maximise project and contract performance.

Cost: $550 including a light lunch.

The Workshop will be run by BRS. BRS are an Adelaide based Australasian advisory firm who specialise in the high performance, commercial and governance aspects of organisations who procure, design, build, operate, maintain or own asset infrastructure. BRS have a proven track record in commercial advisory and work regularly across Australia and New Zealand with Government and commercial organisations.
