What is the location?

Level 1 - the Sun Room, Abercrombie Hotel (yellow walls). The room has a door - if you arrive late - come in via the door. if you aren’t sure, please ask the bar staff

What is the format of the class?

Accepted Answer

The teacher will introduce the concept of the class. Then you'll a bunch of activities throughout the 90-minutes. Each activity goes for 5-15 minutes. The teacher will explain all activities. You'll do the activities in various group sizes (whole class, pairs, small groups of 5, etc).

Thanks but I want more information about the activities.  What are they?

They're all different. We have 24 classes in total and there are 7-12 activities per class, so it's impossible to list all the activities. If you'd like to learn more about them, please come along to the class. You'll have fun, meet new people, and be in safe hands.

Question 4

Do I have to stay for dinner and drinks afterwards?

You can go home straight away, or stick around to get to know everyone - it's very much up to you.

We have a little community and if you'd like to join us afterwards to hang out, you're very welcome to.

How many people are in each class?

There are generally 20 - 30 people in each class.

Is there parking nearby?

Accepted Answer

There's quite a lot of parking options nearby.  It is mostly paid parking.

Question 7

I speak English as a second language - is that okay?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely.  A sizeable cohort of people in our class are from overseas.  The comedy is not based on your skill of English.  This class would be suitable for anyone with intermediate English-speaking skills.

I'd like to change my class date, is this possible?

Accepted Answer

Sure, just contact the event organiser before the class and we will do that for you if the request is made 24 hours before the class.  Please specify the new date and you'll get one change of date at no extra cost.  Should you need to change again after that, you'll need to repurchase your ticket.

Can I come and watch?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not. Not many people would feel comfortable doing a class while someone is watching them. You're welcome to get a ticket and participate. If it gets too much for you, you're welcome to take a break, but we would require you to participate at the beginning.

Question 10

I have physical disability, can I join?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with some caveats. Our building is not mobility-device accessible (bathroom is upstairs), so if you require a wheelchair or any other kind of mobility device, our building cannot support this, apologies.

I'm a beginner - will this be difficult?

Classes are very easy and interactive - they're designed for beginners and newcomers to comedy. Our teacher will explain the activities. All activities typically go for 5-15 minutes.

Question 12

I have a non-physical disability, can I join?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with some caveats. We have regular class participants who are neurodivergent (eg ADHD, autism) and the class works well for them. However, if your disability heavily impacts your speech, or if it is an intellectual disability, this class may not be for you. Please contact us for more.
