This Friday we are back upstairs at Madocke with a line up of the best comedians from around Australia and internationally at one of the Gold Coast's newest and coolest breweries. Belgian beers, big laughs and the perfect way to knock-off for the week every Friday night.
Madocke's famous Friday night comedy is here and huge May 3rd with viral stand up and screen sensation Anisa Nandaula here to headline a show packed with brilliant local and interstate talent. Anisa is an insanely talented comedian who is undoubtedly set to be the next big name in Australian comedy. Joining her to host the show is Brisbane crowd-favourite and absolute crusher Michael Cho. Trust us when we say this is not a show you'll want to miss.
Anisa is a nationally recognised spoken word poet, play writer, educator and published author. She is the 2016 Queensland Poetry slam champion and runner up for the Australian poetry slam championships. She won the XYZ Innovation in Spoken Word Prize and performed poetry at the Sydney Opera house. She shared her work on channel 10 and had over 10million views on her online comedy videos. She has published a book and toured the country. Now setting her sights on stand up comedy, within her first 6 months of stand up she became the Sunshine Coast laughable comedy champion 2020, won the giggle room comedy competition and won the audience favourite at the good chat Bratt pack finals.
Hailing from Queensland, Michael Cho made waves in the comedy scene as state runner-up in Triple J’s prestigious ‘RAW' comedy competition. This accomplishment solidified his status as a rising star as he continues to entertain audiences all over the country. With his dark, intelligent, and sometimes cynical but always charming style of humour, Michael is a comedic force to be reckoned with. His comedic voice resonates with audiences from all walks of life. He fearlessly tackles societal norms, questioning the absurdities of everyday life, and challenging the status quo, all while keeping the audience captivated with his quick wit and infectious energy along with the odd dick joke here or there. Known also for his aggressive style of crowd work, Michael eagerly interacts with the audience, effortlessly weaving their responses into comedic gold. Offstage, Michael's love for comedy shines through in every aspect of his life. Whether he's crafting new material, studying the greats, or honing his skills on stages across the country, his dedication to his craft is unwavering. He is a rising star in the comedy world, and his talent is sure to leave a lasting impact on the comedy scene.
