Come and Try: 3D Printer: Induction for Self-Service-Noarlunga Library

Come along for an introduction to 3D printing! With optional Induction for Self-Service.

We will run through the basics of 3D printing, the history, and the software you can use to select or create your designs.

**You will need an email account to use free tinkercad software.**

Participants will be able to either select an object using thingiverse or design their own object to print using tinkercad on the day but will need to come back to collect their print jobs at a later date due to time restrictions.

Induction for Self-Service 11-11.30pm is optional extra part of the session and available to people 16 years and older who have a library card. If you do not have a library card, you can join for free using photo ID in person at your local public library.

At Noarlunga Library on Wednesdays and Woodcroft Library on Tuesdays you can call the library beforehand and book the 3D printer for the day or part of the day using your library card. Where you can put a 3D printing job on yourself (getting staff approval just before pressing print to note cost and time of printing). Waiting for the first 10 minutes to test if it's working. Either stay in the library or come back when it is finished to remove yourself. You will not pay the $5.10 service fee for your 3D printing job as you are completing it yourself. If the 3D printing job does not work for any reason or you break the print once removing from the platform - you still need to pay for the filament used in grams 20 cents per gram. If you complete the induction there will be a change made to your library card giving you permission to book the 3D printer. You cannot book the 3D printer without doing an 3D induction first and have permission added to your library cards.

By booking a ticket, you agree:

· To cancel your ticket or let us know as soon as possible if you can no longer attend.

· If you often don't show up or cancel late (less than 24 hours’ notice), you might not be able to sign up for future events.
