COLOUR ME A RAINBOW
A 4-Week Saturday Painting Course | February
Time: 3:00 – 5:30pm
Dates: Saturdays 7, 14, 21 & 28 February
Tutor: Due to personal reasons Adriana Seserko is no longer able to teach this course, your new tutor will be Eliott O'Dowd
This four-week adult course explores the power of colour through four iconic art movements, each anchored by the work of one influential artist. Each week, students will study a key artist and select from two of their artworks as inspiration, then create their own painting with a personal twist — adding something of themselves into the work.
Week 1 – Impressionism | Claude Monet
Explore Monet’s use of light, atmosphere, and broken colour. Students will reinterpret a Monet-inspired work while incorporating a personal element.
Week 2 – Expressionism | Vincent van Gogh
Discover Van Gogh’s emotional use of colour and energetic brushwork, using expressive colour to convey mood and meaning.
Week 3 – Fauvism | Henri Matisse
Learn how Matisse used bold, non-naturalistic colour to create joy, movement, and freedom of expression.
Week 4 – Pop Art | Roy Lichtenstein
Explore Lichtenstein’s graphic use of colour, bold outlines, Ben-Day dots, and comic-style imagery. Students will create a pop-inspired work using strong colour and a personal contemporary subject.
Cost: $330 for the full 4-week course.
All materials supplied.
