About this event

Is your child interested in coding, or looking for a new hobby? Join us at this free weekly club where children ages 8+ learn the basics of coding and work on fun projects at their own pace.

No previous coding experience needed.

Bring your own laptop or device to use, or use one of our public computers.

Parents/Caregivers and support workers are welcome to work with your child at the program.

Sensory information

This program is held in the John Slinger IT Training Room, which is a quiet enclosed space.

Children are asked to bring their own headphones to use, to make sure they can hear what they are working on.

If you have any questions about program accessibility or accommodations, we're happy to help - Please contact us at programs@kwinana.wa.gov.au or 9236 4300.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to come every week?

Regular attendance is recommended but not required. Come along as often as you can to keep working on your projects.

What if no tickets are available?

We welcome walk-ins! Registration helps us know how many people to expect, but we may have space available even if you don't have a ticket. If you are walking-in, we recommend bringing your own laptop or device (e.g. iPad) to use, in case all public computers are in use.

What if my child has never done coding before?

No coding experience is needed, this is a perfect place to learn coding basics for the first time!

Do I have to stay with my child at the program?

All children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, who must remain in the Darius Wells Library and Resource Centre.

What kind of coding do you do?

Currently we use projects on Code.org, which uses Blockly.
