Doesn't sound like we'll be doing real work? Well, you couldn't be more wrongerer!We will be working our way through the quests and tech tree of the Prominence II rpg modpack.Requirements:Age: Aimed at children aged 10-15 yrsChildren must be adept using a keyboard and a computer and be able to read.Parents must be aware that your child will be accessing the Internet. <h2>Our Laptops</h2>There are two kinds of tickets: use our laptop or bring your own. If you want to use one of our laptops, there are only six, so you need to book early and you need to book each week. Just because you used a laptop one week, does not mean that it will automatically be available for you every week. You must, must book! <h2>Bringing your own</h2><ul><li>You need to have a laptop (because we are using a modpack, a tablet will not work), and it needs to have some grunt - 8Mb of RAM is good, 16Mb of RAM better - 4Mb RAM is inadequate.</li><li>You need to have a Minecraft account with Minecraft Java Edition and bring the details including the account name, password and the email address you used to set it up</li><li>You will need to have Curseforge installed (https://www.curseforge.com/download/app) and, if you have the confidence, install the Prominence II rpg modpack - latest version (if you don't, I will install it when you come in).</li></ul> <h2>This is Code Club</h2>Yes, we will be working within the Minecraft software; yes, there will be fun to be had. But this is about coding. We will be working our way through a modpack which requires finding resources and building machines and tools.Participants should ideally have some idea about Minecraft, but it is not essential - you can learn by coming to these sessions. The critical thing is that you come to learn, to participate and to work as a team.We will not abide griefing or the theft of other player's items in order to annoy them. Indeed, PVP has been turned off. This is a cooperative environment and we expect everyone to turn up with joy in their hearts and respect for their fellow minecraftians. <h2>Terms and conditions:</h2><ul><li>Your attendance at events supported by Central West Libraries may be digitally recorded through photographs and/or video recordings. Images may be used for promotional purposes on council’s websites, publications, social media or by newspapers. By attending this session you agree to these terms.
