<a href="https://instagram.com/_code_breakers_?igshid=MWI4MTIyMDE=" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Codebreakers </a>is collaborating with <a href="https://www.sweatshop.ws/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">SWEATSHOP </a>to facilitate a session to strengthen the power of your voice to be an agent for change, as you workshop with award-winning authors and artists. This session will explore themes around storytelling, identity, culture, critical thinking and using writing styles that are impactful and transformative.Come along on: When: 8 December, 4pm-8pm Where: <a href="https://goo.gl/maps/5kFJaoigpodhLxXH9" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Arts &amp; Cultural Exchange (A.C.E), Parramatta</a><a href="https://goo.gl/maps/5kFJaoigpodhLxXH9" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>*Free dinner provided** As this is a Face to Face Event our protocols require participants to observe health protocols. If you feel unwell and/or have flu like sympotoms, please stay home. If you are more comfortable having a mask on, feel free to wear one. About our Facilitator:Shankari Chandran is a Tamil-Australian lawyer who was raised on Ngunnawal Country and now lives and raises her four children on Darug Country. She is a member of Sweatshop Literacy Movement and the author of three books: Song of the Sun God (Ultimo Press, 2022), Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens (Ultimo Press, 2022) and The Barrier (Pan Macmillan Australia, 2017). Her work has been long-listed for the International Dublin Literary Award (2019), and short-listed for the Fairway National Literary Award (2018) and the Norma K Hemming Award for Speculative Fiction (2018). Shankari is the deputy chair of Writing NSW.Adam Phillip Anderson is a mixed-race Australian-Indonesian writer and activist. He grew up on Gomeroi land in Tamworth, and is currently based out of Bankstown in Sydney&#x27;s south-west. Adam’s short stories and essays have appeared in Racism: Stories on Fear, Hate and Bigotry, this little red thing, The Lifted Brow and The Big Black Thing: Chapter. 2.Michael Mohammed Ahmad is the founding director of Sweatshop Literacy Movement and editor of the critically acclaimed anthology, After Australia (Affirm Press, 2020). Mohammed is the multi-award-winning author of The Tribe (Giramondo, 2014), The Lebs (Hachette, 2018) and The Other Half of You (Hachette, 2021). He completed his Doctorate of Creative Arts from Western Sydney University in 2017.Winnie Dunn is the General Manager of Sweatshop Literacy Movement and the editor of several critically acclaimed anthologies, including Another Australia (Affirm Press, 2022). She is a writer of Tongan descent from Mount Druitt and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Sydney University. Her work has been published in The Guardian, HuffPost Australia, Griffith Review, Meanjin and SBS Voices.
