Our May Meet-Up takes us to the studio of Rob Slingsby in lovely Glenreagh. Rob is a master potter who works in earthenware. He is has been making pots for around 50 years. He makes beautiful mediterranean inspired tableware and large classical urns and pizza ovens!
Rob Slingsby and his wife Shauna Wing both had strong ceramic practices in Sydny during the 80's and exhibited widely. Rob taught ceramics at East Sydney Technical College alongside other eminent ceramic artists at the time.
Rob also taught for many years at Coff Harbour TAFE and his honey glaze is still in use.
His studio is located in the original stables behind his classic heritage cottage and in recent years, he and Shauna have moved an old hardwood shed onto their property where they host small music events and exhibitions.
Our visit to Rob's studio will include a demonstration, a talk and a general look at his studio and hall.
We can all gather at the pub over the road for lunch and keep talking.
