Description

Coal 2018, the 2018 Coal Operators' Conference, is scheduled for 7-8 February 2018 at the University of Wollongong, Australia. Prior to the commencement of the conference, a workshop will be held on the 6 February on improving respirable coal dust exposure monitoring and control in the Australian coal mining industry.

The Coal Operators' Conference has been held at the University of Wollongong since 1998. The Conference is organised by the Mining Engineering Group of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, University of Wollongong and is supported by the Illawarra Branch of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy AusIMMM and the Mine Managers Association of Australia.

The Conference addressed issues related to various aspects of modern coal mining operations, both surface and underground and offered the opportunity for industry experts to share advice and insights in this area.

The City of Wollongong is located just 80km south of Sydney on a spectacular stretch of the southern New South Wales coast. The City's natural environment includes some of the most pristine beaches in Australia and the escarpment to the west offers a great network of walking trails and dazzling views of the coastline.
