EquiEnergy Youth is a not-for-profit and registered charity that is dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for children and young people across Australia.
This program has been created for educators in Student Learning and Support Officer roles, and similar, to help you support the mental health of students and reduce instances of psychological distress, self-harm and the risk of suicide.
You will receive evidence based and trauma informed coaching by Dr Stephen Spencer (PhD) on:
-Why student mental challenges are more prevalent than ever and what educators can do to improve mental health outcomes for students.
-A new approach developed from PhD research on how to provide the most effective ‘in the moment’ response to students during episodes of psychological distress and behavioural challenges using TAR3 Psychological First Aid.
-Gain skills on how to help students develop coping, resilience and positive help seeking behaviours.
-Coaching in the use of scripts and engagement strategies when responding to distress using the TAR3 framework (Psychological First Aid).
