Help shape how Katoomba’s public spaces feel
Blue Mountains City Council is working with the community to better understand how people experience public spaces and walking routes around Katoomba town centre and train station, and what could help these spaces feel safer, more welcoming and accessible.
As part of the Safer Cities: Her Way Katoomba Main Streets Safety Project, we’re inviting community members to take part in a series of workshops and other engagement activities.
These sessions are an opportunity to share your experiences, identify what influences how safe and comfortable you feel moving through Katoomba, and help explore practical improvements.
What we hear will help inform the co-design of potential improvements such as lighting, accessibility, wayfinding, public spaces, public art and other streetscape enhancements.
The project has a particular focus on understanding the experiences of women, girls and gender-diverse people, but we welcome participation from anyone who lives, works, studies in or regularly visits Katoomba.
Book your place below and help shape the future of Katoomba’s public spaces.
Please note that you must have attended a walkshop in order to attend a co-design workshop.
Participants will receive a $100 gift voucher. For more information contact Sophie Davis, Program Leader Community and Social Planning at sdavis@bmcc.nsw.gov.au.
