Overview

Somatic & Arts Therapy Retreat For Trauma Practitioners:Join us to find renewal & reconnection in your practice; reclaim your creative self

You hold profound space for others' pain. But who holds space for you?

As a trauma practitioner, you witness the depths of human suffering daily. Your body absorbs the weight of your clients' stories, leaving you feeling depleted, disconnected, and creatively blocked.

You've done your own therapy. You understand countertransference. You practice self-care. But still, something feels stuck — a heaviness that talking about doesn't quite shift.

You long to feel alive in your body again, to reconnect with the creative spark that drew you to this work, and to practice from a place of sustainable presence rather than depletion.

This retreat offers something different: embodied transformation through the integration of somatic therapy and arts-based practices. Here, you'll experience firsthand the healing modalities you may use with clients, while being held by facilitators who understand the unique challenges of trauma work.

What Makes This Retreat Different

  • For Practitioners, By Practitioners: We understand the specific toll of trauma work because we live it too. This isn't generic self-care — it's professional renewal designed for those who hold therapeutic space.
  • Embodied + Creative Integration: Experience the powerful synergy of somatic therapy and art therapy, accessing parts of yourself that cognitive approaches alone cannot reach.
  • Professional Development That Transforms: Learn techniques you can integrate into your own practice while experiencing profound personal shifts in your relationship to your work and yourself.
  • Intimate, Confidential Cohort: Connect with fellow trauma practitioners in a space that honors both professional boundaries and authentic vulnerability.

The Experience

Somatic Therapy Sessions

Release vicarious trauma stored in your body through neuroscience-backed movement practices. Experience how your nervous system can shift from chronic hypervigilance to regulated presence.

Arts Therapy Workshops

Reconnect with your creative self through guided art-making that bypasses cognitive defenses and accesses deeper wisdom. No artistic experience required — just willingness to explore and all experiences are simple and safe to take back to your practice.

Integration & Reflection

Process your experiences with fellow practitioners who truly understand the complexities of this work. Share insights, challenges, and discoveries in a confidentially-held space.

Nature Immersion

Allow the healing power of the natural world to support your nervous system regulation and creative renewal.

What You'll Walk Away With

  • Embodied Self-Regulation Practices: Somatic techniques you can use between sessions to prevent burnout and maintain presence with challenging cases.
  • Creative Expression Methods: Arts-based interventions to deepen your work with trauma clients, especially those who struggle with verbal processing.
  • Professional Community: Connections with fellow trauma practitioners for ongoing peer consultation and support.
  • Renewed Relationship to Your Work: A felt sense of why you chose this path, freed from the weight of accumulated secondary trauma.
  • Sustainable Practice Framework: An embodied understanding of how to hold space for trauma without absorbing it into your own system.
