Event description

Description

Clinical governance is the process by which hospitals monitor that good and safe healthcare is always provided to patients. Consumers on hospital committees and Board members have much to offer to hospitals in improving their quality and safety.

Health Issues Centre is offering a half-day workshop on clinical governance for consumers, community leaders and health services board members.

What is this workshop for?
This workshop provides information to understand the language of clinical audits, how clinical governance is implemented in hospitals and the role that consumers and Board members can play in clinical governance.

What will be covered?
This workshop will cover definitions and principles of clinical governance, terms used in clinical governance, the elements of a clinical governance framework, main benefits of and barriers to clinical governance, the role of boards of health services in clinical governance, and some of the key questions to ask as a consumer representative involved in clinical governance committees or health services boards.

When is the workshop?
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, 20 June from 9:30am – 12:30pm.

Morning tea will be provided.

How much is the workshop?
The workshop is $350 for individuals, but we also offer group discounts.

This training is also available for groups of more than 10 participants at your health and community service location. The group session is costed as group fee, plus travel costs.

Ideally, health or community services should cover the costs associated with the training course.
