Clinical Educators Development Workshop - Lismore

This workshop centres on coaching and feedback delivery with students - spanning diverse student
needs, settings and services.

University Centre for Rural Health

There will be a particular focus on feedback for students who may present with ADHD and/or Autistic traits, drawing on both lived experience and research on Rejection-Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD), power-distance and trauma/stress-based responses to perceived authority, while unpacking the cognitive and emotional mechanisms supervisors may observe in practice. Participants will leave the workshop with practical, evidence-informed strategies to assist with better delivery of feedback, including use of the SPIKES model of delivering bad news adapted for education contexts.Workshop will include lunch followed by:<ul><li>Rebecca Austin Essentials of Feedback</li><li>Rebecca Kippax Workplace supports and accommodations for neurodivergent students</li><li>Break</li><li>Tim Davies Can feedback be "bad news"? Delivering effective feedback to rejection sensitive students</li><li>Q&amp;A Panel</li></ul>Workshop will take place in the Lecture Theatre, UCRH, 61 Uralba Street, Lismore.
