The Climate Health WA Inquiry will hold public formal hearings in Perth between October and December, with up to five sessions occurring each day. Following the review of all public submissions, selected individuals and organisations will give evidence to inform the Inquiry’s final report. Lead Inquirer, Dr Tarun Weeramanthri will conduct the hearings.
This hearing invites Professor Anthony Capon (University of Sydney) to give evidence to explore in more detail issues related to their submission.
Topics of discussion may include Lancet Countdown, research, national impact, data, advocacy.
The aim of the Inquiry is to review the current planning and response capacity of the health system in relation to the health impacts of climate change, and make recommendations for improvement with respect to climate change mitigation and public health adaptation strategies.
