Description

Are you concerned about the impact of climate change on the Australian community? Do you want to increase your ability to act?

We are pleased to offer health professionals the opportunity to attend a one day Climate-Health Champions workshop.

We're after people who are passionate about change, willing to develop skills, and want to be part of leading an effective movement for climate action.

The program is delivered by expert campaigners and will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to:

  • Talk about the links between climate change and health to colleagues, friends and family members;

  • Participate in coordinated actions to shape government policy on climate and health;

  • Talk to the media and tell your story effectively;

  • Influence your own local politicians and institutions to take meaningful action.

If you're interested, please register as spaces are limited!

If you have any questions, please contact Dr Nicole Sleeman, Cairns-based General Practitioner and CAHA Volunteer Organiser nicsleeman@gmail.com.

Where: TBA depending on participant locations and numbers - either Townsville or Cairns.

When: Tentatively March 2019 - dates to be finalised.

Why: Because climate change is both the greatest health threat and the greatest health opportunity of the 21st century. As a health professional you have a voice of credibility and influence, and can positively influence change on this important issue.
