Clean Up Tinchi Tamba
This annual Clean Up Australia Day is being hosted by PRCA in the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve. Meeting point will be Car Park 2
Wetlands play a vital role as natural filters, capturing pollution and debris before it reaches our rivers and oceans. Located at the bottom of catchments, wetlands like Tinchi Tamba collect litter carried in by stormwater from surrounding streets and waterways, as well as debris brought in by tidal waters. Dense vegetation and slow-moving water trap rubbish, which can harm wildlife, damage sensitive habitats and take years to break down. Removing litter from wetlands helps protect biodiversity, improves water quality and prevents pollution from spreading downstream, making wetland clean-ups one of the most effective ways to care for our local environment.
