About this event

  • 3 hours

Helen works with her daughter to create nature inspired pieces of ceramic that are both useful and beautiful. Their inspiration comes from their property that is surrounded by bays of driftwood from decades of trees in a flooded valley, slowly making its way to the shore as the lake rises and then falls, leaving behind beautiful pieces of weathered timber, banks of clay and river worn rocks.

The workshop is aimed at both beginners as well as more experienced potters, with a focus on having time to relax and enjoy the making processes of pottery.

All workshop materials will be provided.

In this three hour work shop you will learn the basics of coil building to create your own small and large bowl, a spoon rest and a spoon.

The techniques of this practice will create a beautiful setting on its own or can be matching pieces for the tea bowl sets.

Your pieces will be left to dry and then collected a few days later to be fired by Helen to bisque and then glazed. You will have a choice of glazes and the results always showcase your individual taste and style.

The pieces will be available to collect from Yass approximately 3-4 weeks after the workshop.

If you are new to pottery or an old hand, you will love the pieces you can make.

Please bring an apron.
