CLAY CLUB
Overview

Get ready to get your hands dirty and unleash your creativity at CLAY CLUB, where you can mold and shape your own unique clay creations!

Clay Club at the Colac MakersShed

Friday Mornings 10am to 12 noon during School terms

Independent or Tutored Participation

Clay Club offers a welcoming weekly space for participants to explore hand‑building techniques using low fire earthenware clay and develop their own ceramic projects at a comfortable pace. Sessions are suitable for both beginners and returning makers, with the option to work independently or receive guidance from an experienced tutor.

Independent Sessions

Participants who prefer a self‑directed approach are invited to bring their own ideas and work autonomously. Low fire earthenware clay, tools, and shared resources are provided, and Shed staff will be available for basic support. Independent sessions are ideal for those wishing to practise skills, experiment with forms, or progress personal projects in a calm, communal environment.

Tutored Sessions (Coming Soon)

For those seeking structured guidance, tutored sessions offer step‑by‑step support from a skilled facilitator. Participants will learn foundational hand‑building techniques, explore surface decoration, and create functional or sculptural pieces with expert assistance. Tutored sessions are well suited to beginners or anyone wanting to build confidence and expand their skills.

Kiln Firing (Coming Soon)

The Shed will soon be equipped with an on‑site kiln, enabling participants to have their work fired as part of the program. This addition will support a complete making process from forming to finished ceramic pieces.

Clay Club provides a focused, creative start to the day and encourages skill development, experimentation, and community connection. All participants leave each session with a unique, handcrafted piece that reflects their individual style.
