City of Gold Coast presents: Post-Production Summit

QUT’s 'Gold Coast Independent Screen Production' Report published in June 2020 discovered that the lack of post-production facilities is perceived as a significant structural weakness for the Gold Coast independent screen industry.

The Report notes that during the years of 2015-2019 there was a significant increase in ABN company registrations for businesses providing post-production services. This suggests growth in the number of freelance sole traders providing editing, post-production or visual effects on the Gold Coast during this time.

So what's really happening within the post-production space on the Gold Coast?

Is there a structural weakness in the industry? What post-production services do content producers need? Who is suppling these services? Is there really a post-production pipeline gap on the Gold Coast?

To explore these questions with fellow industry professionals, the City of Gold Coast, in partnership with the Gold Coast Film Festival, is holding a Post-Production Summit. This workshop style event will encourage participants to actively identify key issues, benefits and potential solutions in an effort to make the Gold Coast’s post-production sector a draw card for the industry.
