Join City of Boroondara as we compete in the 2024 City Nature Challenge. You'll be helping to put Boroondara's flora and fauna on the world map, whilst contributing to important citizen science data collection. The challenge runs for 4 days only: Friday 26th - Monday 29th April 2024.
Boroondara is teaming up with Councils across Greater Melbourne to join in the City Nature Challenge. As part of the challenge, we invite you to come along and join in an afternoon of learning and identification, joined by a horticultural specialist at Maranona Gardens. We will be on hand to help you spot, learn about, and record your sightings, as we focus on the amazing biodiversity that calls Boroondara home!
We encourage you to download the free iNaturalist app prior to the event, however this is not essential to attend the session.
You may also like to watch a recording of an iNaturalist app training session to learn how to use the app, if this is your first time participating!
Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for an outdoor walk along uneven ground. Please bring a water bottle and be prepared for the weather.
Where to meet: Enter from Parring Road and meet at the front gate of Maranoa Gardens. From the Parring Road carpark, the entry gate is approximately a 3 minute walk. You will be met by a staff member here to start the tour.
Please note: This event uses the Eventbrite booking system. On booking you will be asked to provide your name, email and phone number. This information will enable us to keep you informed about the event or event cancellations. Any other information requested will be used to help us plan future events and is optional.
