Systemic Constellations: A Transformative Approach
Systemic constellations provide a meaningful way to provide unique perspectives on community and organisational challenges.
What Are Systemic Constellations?
Sometimes referred to as structural constellations, this facilitated workshop process maps, visualises, and addresses hidden, often subconscious, complex community and organisational dynamics. It employs representatives—whether people or objects—to symbolise elements of a system, e.g. key stakeholders, people of power and decision making this allows participants to physically engage with and reshape relationships and how these play out relationally in how we engage, make decision and support our work.
Participants acting as representatives often report experiencing emotions or insights related to the individuals they represent. Through movement, dialogue, and discovering a "better position" for each representative, the goal is to shift the system towards balance and create new perspectives. This interactive workshop has been designed specifically for local government and the incredible staff supporting community work.
Participants in this two-hour workshop will learn about systemic constellations and use spatial mapping to explore complex experiences in local government, allowing them to visualise and externalise the challenges faced by local government officers.
