Following the success of the inaugural recording in 2025, the WA Made Film Festival proudly presents a Live Recording of the Cinema Australia Podcast, featuring highly regarded filmmaker Miley Tunnecliffe in conversation with host Matthew Eeles. This exclusive event offers audiences an unparalleled opportunity to delve deep into Miley’s career so far.
Miley TUNNECLIFFE has won multiple awards for her writing and directing. She has written for internationally successful Australian broadcast TV series and is the writer, director and creator of multiple awardwinning short films and series. Miley wrote and directed the
upcoming supernatural horror feature film Proclivitas which received the coveted Screenwest and Screen Australia WEST COAST VISIONS 1.5million film grant. The film premiered at SXSW Sydney in October 2025 and will be distributed theatrically by ICON Films, releasing in Australian and NZ cinemas in 2026. Miley is emerging as one of Australia’s exciting new talents, working with an array of producers, showrunners, and companies across Australia and in the U.S. on upcoming comedy and horror film and TV projects. She is represented in the U.S. by Fictional Entity and in Australia by Creative Representation.
Matthew Eeles is the co-founder of the WA Made Film Festival, and founder and editor of Cinema Australia - an online space dedicated to the support and promotion of Australian-made films through independent news, reviews, features and interviews. Matthew can also be heard on CRN and ABC Melbourne discussing Australian films. Matthew was recently awarded the Independent Spirit Award at the 2024 WA Screen Culture Awards. Miley will join a long list of celebrated Australian filmmakers to join the Cinema Australia Podcast including Travis Jeffery, Bill Bennett, Mark Leonard Winter, Geraldine Hakewill, Scott Hicks, Danny and Michael Philippou, Simon Baker, Rolf de Heer, Richard Roxburgh, Robert Connolly, Justin Kurzel, Shaun Grant, and many more.
