SCHEDULE:

Date: Thursday June 4th, running every fortnight until September 24th

Time: 4:00pm-4:40pm

September 24th will be a special performance by the students to showcase what they have learnt during the course.

FEATURES:

  • Designed for children aged 7-12 years old in a class size of 10-30 students
  • Learn a variety of Chinese poems through singing along and rhyming to live acoustic music
  • Introduce a broad overview of ancient Chinese poetry in an encouraging and fun atmosphere
  • Led by qualified and talented instructors

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Deepen children’s enjoyment of and appreciation for Chinese poetry
  • Uncover children's natural musical talents and affinities

Please note this program is not designed for children who are total Chinese language beginners, a basic understanding of Chinese is required.

BOOKING CONDITIONS:

Please read the following information carefully before registering your child/children into the program.

By registering to our program, you are committing to attend the following classes:

4th June, 18th June, 2nd July, 16th July, 30th July, 13th August, 27th August, 10th September and 24th September (Poetry Concert).

Places within the Poetry Sing Along program are reserved on a first-come, first served basis. When the registration on Eventbrite reaches its maximum capacity of 30, you will be placed on a waiting list. If a spot and a time becomes available during the course of the program, you will be contacted by the Confucius Institute.

Three absences are allowed within the program. In order to maintain class integrity and foster a sense of familiarity among students, no more than three absences will be permitted. There is no make up class available if your child/children are unable to attend a class.

The Confucius Institute reserves the right to amend any class, educator or schedule. We will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible if such circumstances arise.

Cancellation

As the entire online program is free of charge, your respect for our cancellation policy is highly appreciated. If you book a place and are unable to participate in this event, another student may miss out on the opportunity to join. Please inform us of your change of mind at least 72 hours prior to the classes starting.

Student Image Consent

Performances and lessons will be recorded. These images and videos may be used for promotional purposes such as brochures, social media, and our website. As a condition of registration, you agree to such as by the Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide. If you do not want your child’s photo used please email confucius.institute@adelaide.edu.au

Parental participation

Parents/guardians are welcome to take part in the class.

Further Details

Out of respect for other students and our educators, students are requested to be punctual for class.

Please ensure you download the free version of Zoom, and check the speakers/mic/camera on the computer or device you will be using before each class begins.
