About this event

We would like to invite you to enrol in our program of Stay and Play Digital Technology sessions, for parents and children aged four to six years old. Facilitated by early years education specialist teachers from the Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child, parents and children will be guided to co-play with innovative, creative and age-appropriate digital technologies.

Separate to your session attendance, you will be invited to participate in voluntary research on the day of your visit. This will include a questionnaire asking about your attitudes towards how digital technologies are used by and for your child/ren, and how you negotiate this in your home. At the questionnaire's conclusion, you may also indicate your interest in being interviewed. The research team will guide you through this process. Should you choose not to participate in the research, you are still welcome to attend the Stay and Play experiences.

There are two programs running in 2024, one monthly on Saturday mornings which is full, and the other is a week-long program of morning sessions during the July school holidays. Each program consists of six sessions, and you may register for the sessions of your choice (spaces are limited to 10 children). All sessions will be held in the Children’s Technology Cove (CTC), which is an interactive space in the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child (Building 209, Ground Floor), located on Curtin’s Bentley campus, Perth, Western Australia.

Please note; parents will maintain duty of care at all times while visiting and participating in Stay and Play sessions.

We look forward to having your family join our Stay and Play Program.
