Sustainable Saturday - Chemical free gardens – Encourage beneficial biodiversity for pest control

To acknowledge International Day for Biological Diversity on 22 May, we’re exploring chemical-free gardens, also known as organic gardens – which avoid synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilisers, relying instead on natural methods for pest control, weed management, and soil enrichment. This approach focuses on building a healthy ecosystem in the garden to promote plant vitality and minimise environmental impact. Join Dan Austin from Beyond Green Australia who will share how to recognise and encourage beneficial biodiversity for pest control. Limited spaces. Registration required. Preference will be given to City of Mitcham residents. Free.
