About this Event

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is pleased to invite you to the online launch of the second edition of the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights which will be live-streamed across Australia on 8 August 2019, commencing at 13:00 (AEST).

To join the event, follow this link: www.webevent.com.au/chr/

We are thrilled that Luke Escombe, award-winning singer-songwriter, comedian and health advocate will be hosting the event and will be joined by a range of speakers from the world of health.

The Charter describes what you, or someone you care for, can expect when receiving health care. The Charter applies to all people in all places where health care is provided in Australia.

The Charter will be supported by a range of resources, the first tranche of which will also be launched on 8 August. These early resources are aimed at making the Charter accessible to as many people as possible and will include translations of the Charter into 19 languages plus Braille, Auslan and Easy English versions of the Charter.

Over the coming months we will continue to release resources to support the implementation of the Charter including a guide for consumers, tools for health service staff and multimedia promotional material. We encourage you to register for this event so that you can be kept up to date with event details and news of the Charter in the coming months.

The second edition of the Charter and supporting resources will available on the Commission’s website at safetyandquality.gov.au/your-rights from 8 August 2019.

We would love your help in spreading the news of the launch and the second edition of the Charter. Please invite your friends, family and colleagues to participate and use the hashtag #MyHealthcareRights. If you are unable to join us, a video of the launch will be available after the event online at safetyandquality.gov.au/your-rights.
