Changing Narratives - From Survival to Leadership

Changing Narratives - From Survival to Leadership

Online event
Tuesday, Mar 10 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm AEDT
Overview

Globally, women and girls continue to face systemic and intersecting forms of discrimination that limit their access to justice.

Those living with unaddressed trauma from family and gender-based violence, including trafficking and online exploitation, knowing perpetrators often act with impunity due to inaccessible justice systems, face significant added barriers to transitioning from survival to leadership. The session will highlight integrated-centered approaches, including the Dignity App-a collaborative digital tool for justice and protection-and the global Dignity International framework, with Kenya, Malawi and/or Australia positioned as a future host to center regional leadership and decolonised practice.

At the CSW70 Forum, this session brings together organisations working at the intersection of human rights, legal reform, education, economic justice, interfaith action, and environmental kinship models, for holistic, intersectional, and participatory approaches to women's and girls' empowerment. Hence, contributing towards access to justice for women and girls.
