About this event

  • 1 day 6 hours

Laughter Yoga is a body-mind practice that enables us to laugh for wellbeing, without jokes or punchlines.

Devised by a physician and his yogi wife, in India, in the 1990s, laughter yoga has a raft of science-backed evidence supporting its physical, mental, and social well-being benefits.

This 2-day workshop, following Laughter Yoga International's curriculum, provides you with the skills and understanding to deliver laughter yoga social community sessions (we call them 'laughter clubs'). Read more about laughter clubs.

You'll be doing a lot of laughter yoga over the 2 days, you'll practice facilitating/demonstrating/explaining exercises and you'll work out your own session to present to your own community.

Your training includes 12 months of follow-up support because, frankly, expertise doesn't just happen in 2 days!

This program is certified by Laughter Yoga International.

Who is your trainer

HeatherJoy Campbell is Queensland's most experienced certified laughter yoga teacher/trainer. Trained by the giggling guru creator of laughter yoga, Dr Madan Kataria, in India, she's also the only full-time practitioner in the state. AND finds time to still run laughter clubs as givebacks to the community because … she loves her community!

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have experience in laughter yoga?

It helps but it is not a prerequisite. Come with an open mind and a yearning to be playful.

Can I do commercial sessions after this training?

Proficiency comes with practice, which is why we say spend 6-12 months delivering sessions with friends, and neighbours, in a laughter club, before seeking to do fee-for-service sessions. During that time confidence and ability grow (and you can get the follow-up support for success).

Must I attend both days?

Yes.

What will I need to bring to the training?

A notepad and pen, bottled water, lunch (tea, coffee, snacks provided)

what do i wear for laughter yoga

Comfortable clothes to move in. You don't need to wear 'yoga' clothes.
