Celebrating 52 years of Grad Dip Ed (Resource/ Learning Support Teaching)
Overview
2026 marks 52 years since an innovative postgraduate program for teachers was established at QUT’s former Kelvin Grove College of Advanced Education in January 1975. To celebrate the success of these course graduates and reminisce on their seminal specialist training and subsequent careers, QUT School of Education is hosting an afternoon tea at QUT Kelvin Grove campus (E block- Level 5) on Saturday 14 March 2026, 2.30 pm - 5:00 pm. Participants can continue celebrations at an optional dinner after the QUT event.
The reunion is being organised by Dr Barrie O'Connor, the course coordinator for the first 20 years, and Prof Suzanne Carrington, the course coordinator from 1996. The reunion aims to rekindle old friendships and memories among over 450 graduates, celebrate career successes and fulfilling retirements, and to acknowledge those who are no longer with us.
