Description

This workshop is sponsored by the NSW Department of Education Community Languages Schools Program and will be delivered by Voula Valnidas from the multicultural consultancy, Diversity Kids.

This workshop will assist community languages teachers and schools to deliver culturally inclusive programs which cater to the needs of all students - including students with special needs.

The workshop will share a range of proven and effective teaching strategies to support and meet the unique inclusion of children with special education needs within the classroom.

The workshop offers information and support around the following:

  • Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyslexia and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)
  • The importance of using visuals
  • Scheduling
  • Sensory processing challenges
  • Behaviour management and social skills training
