About this event

Over the next decade, tens of thousands of exciting well paid jobs in advanced manufacturing will become available. Tens of thousands of jobs for young people, right here, in Western Sydney. However there is a skills shortage - a gap that has been recognised by government and industry - and here’s how your school can play a vital role in bridging this gap.

Career Evolution is hands-on, STEM initiative specifically created to connect your students to real life work scenarios. This program is designed to inspire and inform secondary students to consider a career in STEM aligned, locally based, future facing industries such as advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defence. It will also showcase the skills required to take up these career opportunities.

Hosted by Dr Jordan Nguyen, this initiative will be delivered virtually to the classroom as a virtual half day interactive incursion:

9.00am Dr Jordan Nguyen to welcome students and introduce the program (10 mins)

9.10am Virtual tours of STEM employer facilities (45 mins)

9.55am Teacher led class discussion (15 mins)

10.10am Live Q&A session (45 mins)

11.30am Hands on STEM Activity delivered in partnership with CSIRO (60 mins)

12.30am Program concludes
