Career crafting – identifying skills and opportunities
Are you aware of the skills you are developing throughout your research degree and how they relate to employability in both academic and non-academic environments? Do you know what activities you can be doing during your degree to increase your chances of positive post-doctoral career? In this workshop we will complete activities designed to build your career confidence and prospects. You will develop an understanding your skills and what you can offer employers and identify opportunities to develop your career during your research degree.
By the end of this workshop you will:
• Have identified skills you have developed/ are developing during your research degree
• Understand how to articulate your skills to academic and non-academic employers
• Identified opportunities and strategies to optimise your future career success
• Commenced an action plan to facilitate your career development
This workshop will be presented by Dr Shari Walsh, Developer and Facilitator of Resilient Researcher, Psychologist and Career Development Practitioner, Growth Psychology, Brisbane.
