Car Maintenance workshop with Galmatic
for youth 16 to 25 years
Want to learn basic car maintenance skills and feel confident to do tasks such as opening the bonnet of the car to check the coolant, fluid and battery? Do you know how to change a tyre? Gain essential skills in our interactive, hands on, and fun workshop, helping you feel more road ready.
In celebration of International Women’s Day this program is run by women in a safe and no judgement zone.
Designed to educate young drivers with practical experience and car maintenance knowledge. This workshop will have each attendee road ready and empowered on the road with these essential life skills.
- Why tyre pressure and tread are important (and how to check both)
- What, when and how to check the engine and keep it running smoothly and safely
- Participants will check oil, coolant, fluids, battery and hoses
- Hands-on experience changing a tyre
Participants must wear suitable covered shoes, bring waterbottle and own snacks.
Attendee numbers are limited. Registrations are essential.

About the Facilitator
Galmatic, or as they call themselves “Educators with difference”, are about empowering women & girls and teenagers to equip themselves with essential 'automotive-know-how' skills. They hold 20 years of experience in teaching car mechanic workshops to over 100,000 Australians a year.
About the venue
ST PETERS LIBRARY is single level and is accessible for people using wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
