"When NDIA talks about assistive technology, we mean equipment, technology, and devices that help

you do things you can’t do because of your disability. Assistive technology includes items designed to

improve your daily life and help you do everyday activities. It may also help you do something more

easily or safely. Assitive technology ranges from simple products to the complex systems.

In this presentation we will cover:

• What assistive technology is

• How assistive technology supports independence and safety

• How to access assistive technology through the NDIS

• Explain product risk: low vs. high

• The different processes for low, mid and high cost AT and the evidence requirements for each"
