{Cairns Hub} Quiet Time at the Carer Hub
A calm space to pause, reset and refill your cup.
Caring for someone else often means being “on” all the time.
Appointments. Advocacy. Emotional support. Crisis management. Decision fatigue.
It adds up!
Quiet Time at the Hub is dedicated space for carers to decompress in a low-stimulation, welcoming environment, because when you’re constantly giving, you also need intentional time to receive.
Why this matters
When you don’t get space to pause, stress builds in the body and mind. Overwhelm becomes the norm. Patience thins. Exhaustion deepens.
Creating even small pockets of stillness can:
- Support nervous system regulation
- Reduce stress and mental fatigue
- Improve clarity and emotional resilience
- Prevent burnout
- Strengthen your capacity in your caring role
This isn’t indulgent. It’s protective.
When you feel steadier, calmer and more resourced, it directly benefits the person you care for too.
What you’ll find:
☕ A warm cuppa
📓 Space to journal and reflect
📚 Books to read
🎨 Drawing and painting materials
🧩 Puzzles
🌿 A peaceful environment where silence is respected
No pressure to socialise.
No structured activities.
No expectations.
Just a safe place to simply be.
Pop in for ten minutes or stay the whole session. This time is yours.
