Byron Cane Toad Challenge - Community toad bust

Watergum has partnered with Byron Shire Council to bring the Cane Toad Challenge to Byron this season!

Cane Toads in the Bryon Shire cause declines in our native wildlife, poison domestic pets and have negative impacts on our local agricultural industries.

We are working together to humanely and effectively control this pest species and create safe havens for biodiversity!

Join our Toad Bust and work together to control cane toads:

Toad busting is a fun event, appropriate for the whole family! Come along to:

• Meet some like-minded individuals
• Learn some new toad busting skills
• Make a difference for our environment

🔦How the event will run:

Watergum staff will welcome you with a brief educational talk, we will then work together to clear the Mullumbimby Community Garden of as many cane toads as we can!

Please wear closed in shoes and appropriate clothing for the outdoors at night. If you have a toad busting kit, please bring it along on the night! If not, Watergum will have some gear available to use.

Toad busting kit equipment:

• Bucket
• Rubber or garden gloves
• Torch
• Pick up stick optional
