BVRT Festival of Cycling 2024

We're thrilled to announce the return of the BVRT Festival of Cycling, brought to you by the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association Inc. on August 3, 2024! Get ready to experience gravel cycling at its finest across the picturesque landscapes of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.

From family fun to challenging terrains, the festival offers a variety of distances to cater to all levels of cycling enthusiasts.

Choose Your Adventure

Embark on your cycling journey with options designed for different skills and stamina:

• 161 km: Starting in Wulkuraka, kick-off at dawn and push your limits to the finish line in Yarraman.
• 75 km: Begin your ride in Toogoolawah and traverse a route filled with scenic views and varying terrains.
• 50 km: Set off from Moore for a gratifying half-century ride that balances challenge and charm.
• 20 km: A new addition aimed at families and novice riders looking for a fun-filled day out, starting near the Roy Emerson Museum in Blackbutt.

This event is a fully supported environment that ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all:

• Professional Support: On-track assistance from ride marshals, first aid responders, bike mechanics, and support vehicles to help with any problems encountered during your ride.
• Event Village: The finish line at Yarraman Station Park transforms into a vibrant village where riders can relax and celebrate with music, food, and stalls.
• Nutrition and Hydration: Strategically placed food and water stations along the route to keep you energised and hydrated, featuring water, bananas, lollies, and - yes - homemade baked goods.
• Capture the Memories: Event photos taken by Element Video and Photo Productions to capture your moments of triumph and joy throughout the ride

Important Details

• Keeping Costs Low: We've frozen the cost of entry at the affordable 2021 rates to make this event accessible to more participants.

• Transport: Return shuttle options are available for all distances except the 20km. Ensure you purchase this alongside your entry ticket.

Safety and Registration

• Event Safety: For your safety, riders arriving in Blackbutt after 3:30 PM will not be permitted to continue. We prioritise your well-being and want everyone to finish before dusk.
• Registration: Early registration is advised as start times vary by distance. The event reserves the right to postpone in the case of adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances affecting safety.
