Lost a button from your favourite cardigan or is the perfect shirt hanging in your wardrobe unworn due to a cuff button that disappeared somewhere, a pair of pants that can only be worn with your shirt out as that button popped off years ago?
These might seem like silly, even funny stories, but all too often items in our wardrobe go unworn due to the smallest thing, that rogue button.
Sewing on a button is one of those really useful and basic skills that can save a piece of clothing being abandoned in our wardrobes or worse still, thrown away.
You’ll learn about different button types, how to thread a needle, do basic hand stitch and sew on a button.
This 1 hour beginner workshop will give you the skills and confidence to start that journey to mending your clothes so they can come back into rotation, and stop just taking up space.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is suitable for all beginners of any age !
However, if you have a child under 13, we recommend Buttons & Bookmarks to learn this skill of sewing on a button.
What do I bring?
All tools are supplied for this workshop however you'll need to bring your clothing item needing a button (or two), with a matching button if you can. If not, we will also have a bunch of odd buttons for you to choose something that may match or be a close match.
If you don't have an item to bring, don't worry - we have supplies for your to practice with.
