About this event

  • 3 hours

Entry is FREE. You can buy your own drinks and meals at the bar.

These events are run bi-monthly on the 2nd Tuesday.

What to expect?

People start to arrive at 6pm. They tend to spend some time moving around socialising and catching up with friends/meeting new people. You can order dinner at any time. Eventually, enough people get hungry and we naturally transition into a sit down dinner. If you are new there will be plenty of people there who will draw you into a conversation and make you feel welcomed.

It would be a good idea to bring a name tag if you have one at home so people can remember your name.

What about the venue?

Roxie's is an outdoor beer garden that is under cover. They have a good amount of log fires and heating towers. In winter we are usually near the back wall near the pizza ovens. This means you can migrate to find a place that suits your warmth/cooling needs.

Roxie's meals are pretty tasty and filling. They have meals that cater for gluten free, vegetarian and other dietary needs.

Where do I park?:

Adelaide streets have metered parking up to 6pm in most places. So it will cost you around $1 before 6pm, or free if you are arriving after 6pm. If you are looking for a secure parking lot there are:

  • Wilson Parking East End, 8 Union St, $12 for 2 hrs (2 min walk to Roxie's)
  • Wilson Parking, 21 Bent St, $11 for 2 hrs (5 min walk to Roxie's)
  • For those who think about their safety leaving events in the dark: Grenfell is a main road and is well lit at night. There is also a police station across the road near Wilson Parking on Bent St.

Why is this event being run?

I moved to Adelaide 4 years ago and struggled to find opportunities to meet new people. I started these bi-monthly dinners to meet people in the same field in a relaxed no-pressure social environment. Organising these dinners fulfills my need to meet new and interesting people and form genuine relationships.

What will you do with my email?

This event requires tickets so that I can let the restaurant know how many people to expect. I will use the joined email addresses to invite you to the next event once and nothing more. If you want to be notified about other future events you can follow this account on Eventbrite and it will notify you when new events are coming.

See you soon.
