Join the Bunbury Library Youth Collective!

Are you between 12-24 years? Or 11 years of age and currently in year 7?

Join us after school, enjoy a snack on us, and meet other like-minded members at our next catch-up.

Have fun, learn new skills, and get involved in youth-led projects and initiatives at your local library.

As a group member, you will:

  • Have your say on future youth programs, events, and initiatives held at Bunbury Public Libraries
  • Meet other motivated and likeminded young people
  • Make a positive difference in your community
  • Develop new skills and expand your leadership skills
  • Get a great addition to your resume
  • Achieve ownership in youth-led programs, events, and projects
  • Have heaps of fun and enjoy great snacks at meetings

New members are always welcome. No experience is necessary, be involved as much or as little as you like!

In 2023, BLYC members were involved in the planning and running of the South West Science Fair and putting together design concepts to refresh the library's Young Adult area.

BLYC meetings are held fortnightly on Fridays at Bunbury Public Library from 3.15pm - 4.45pm. Alternating between Bunbury Library staff-led and youth-led sessions. Note: BLYC, does not run during school holidays and will commence from the first Friday of each term.

Bookings are not required, simply attend the library and join us in the programs room.

* Membership is free and members can be involved as little or as much as they like.

* BLYC is a youth group run by Bunbury Public Libraries and is made up of Library staff and youth members 12-24 years of age (or 11 years of age, currently in year 7).

* Parent / Guardian consent is required for members under 18 years of age to join BLYC.

* Snacks and refreshments are provided at each BLYC meetings/project sessions.

* Members of BLYC work on various youth initiatives at the library throughout the year. Meetings are set in which members will discuss ideas, develop objectives and goals, share and work on projects collectively.

* Projects are derived from the interest of BLYC members.

* Members residing outside of the Bunbury area are welcome to join BLYC. Sessions are held after school, from 3.15pm to allow for travel of those coming from surrounding suburbs.
