Brisbane Networking Event - 2026
A focused evening of industry connection, insight, and relationship-building.
A focused evening of industry connection, insight, and relationship-building.
ABOUT THE APGA NETWORKING EVENT
The APGA Networking Events are an opportunity for the pipeline and gas industry to come together early in the year to share insights, strengthen relationships, and build momentum for the months ahead. Held across Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth, these events combine valuable technical learning with relaxed, informal networking to help you reconnect with colleagues, meet new industry peers, and gain practical understanding from member-led project presentations.
BRISBANE — PARLIAMENT HOUSE
Kick off the year with an evening of high-value connection at Parliament House Brisbane. This APGA Networking Event brings together professionals from across the pipeline and energy value chain for a night of conversation, learning, and relationship-building in one of the city’s most historic venues. With a mini-seminar to broaden your industry knowledge and three hours of quality networking, this event is the ideal way to set the tone for a productive year ahead.
MINI-SEMINAR (5PM – 6PM)
APGA Mini-Seminar & Networking Event — 19 February
Featuring Phil Woodhouse and Commissioner Ken Singer
Before the first APGA networking event of 2026 kicks off, join us for an exclusive mini-seminar focused on health, safety and industry improvement.
This session will feature presentations from two respected safety leaders:
Phil Woodhouse, General Manager – Health, Safety & Plant at Spiecapag
Ken Singer, Acting Commissioner for Resources Safety and Health Queensland
About the Speakers
Phil Woodhouse – Spiecapag GM Health, Safety & Plant
Phil brings over a decade of frontline experience in the pipeline sector, beginning his career as a labourer before stepping into leadership roles and eventually becoming General Manager.
With genuine hands-on understanding of how work is performed in the field — not just how it appears in a plan — Phil offers a grounded and practical perspective on health and safety.
Combined with his academic qualifications, this real-world insight enables Phil to communicate safety expectations clearly, build trust across teams, and support cultural change where it counts most — on the job.
Ken Singer – Acting Commissioner for Resources Safety & Health
Spanning more than four decades across coal mining, mineral mining and explosives, Ken’s experience is both broad and deep.
As Acting Commissioner, Ken is focused on strengthening Queensland’s tripartite consultative model — ensuring industry operators, workers and regulators continue to work collaboratively for safer outcomes.
Ken is committed to sharing his knowledge and lived experience to elevate safety standards across resource sectors.
What You’ll Hear About
Phil Woodhouse will share:
- Key initiatives currently underway within the APGA HSE Committee
- How the committee is supporting collective industry improvement
- A breakdown of recent SafeWork statistics, what they mean for the pipeline sector, and why continuous improvement remains critical
Ken Singer will deliver a keynote presentation covering:
- Observations across the diverse industries he oversees
- Learnings from resource sectors that translate to pipelining
- Where sector-wide improvement is possible and how industry and regulators can partner to achieve it
This is a great lead-in to the evening networking event and a valuable opportunity to engage, learn and strengthen connections across the pipeline community
NETWORKING EVENT (6PM – 9PM)
