Event description
A one-day festival jam-packed with exhibitions, workshops, competitions, prizes, and fun activities for young writers in Grades: 6-10.

About this event

QWC is excited to announce the inaugural Brisbane Children’s Writers Festival for the young creative writers and readers of Brisbane. Fitting the occasion, the theme for the new festival is "Beginnings". Become a Youth Member of Queensland Writers Centre to claim your free ticket today.

This one-day festival will be jam-packed with awesome workshops, competitions, prizes, and loads of fun and creative activities to inspire the creativity of young writers and readers. With a mix of social, solo, and more hands-on activities, everyone will have their chance to try something new and share their creativity in a fun, supportive, and creative environment.

For parents and caretakers:

Please BYO lunch for the lunchtime picnic. Drinks, lollies, and other snacks will be provided throughout the day by QWC (allergy-friendly options).

This event is COVID safe and fully supervised, so parents and caretakers can drop their kids and young writers off at 10am, and pick them up from 3pm. Throughout the day, staff members from QWC with Blue Card Working With Children Checks will supervise the young writers.

Admission:

Admission to the Brisbane Children's Writers Festival 2021 is FREE for QWC Youth Members. If your child is a member, please contact us at admin@qldwriters.org.au for a 100% off promo code to claim your free ticket. One Year Youth Memberships can be purchased through our website or through this page.

Spaces are limited so registration is essential. If your child is no longer able to attend, please notify Queensland Writers Centre as soon as possible.

Terms of Participation

Please stay at home if you or your child are feeling unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, or shortness of breath.
